Clinicians spend 2–3 hours per day on post-consultation documentation. Medscribe handles the record, the letter, the referral note — so the clinician can spend that time on patients instead.
Intended purpose statement
Medscribe is a clinician-controlled documentation assistant that records consultations, transcribes audio, drafts editable clinical documentation, and supports administrative record keeping. It does not diagnose, triage, recommend treatment, monitor patients, calculate risk, or make clinical decisions. All outputs are drafts subject to clinician review and sign-off before any use.
This statement is published in accordance with MHRA guidance on software and AI as a medical device. Medscribe is not a medical device. It does not fall within the definition of Software as a Medical Device under current MHRA guidance because it makes no medical claims and is not intended for diagnostic, monitoring, or clinical decision support purposes.
How it works
Four steps, all on your device, nothing in the cloud.
The clinician starts a session. Medscribe records the consultation audio locally on the device using the built-in microphone or an external recorder.
Audio is transcribed locally using Whisper — a speech-to-text model that runs entirely on your machine. No audio or transcript is transmitted anywhere.
The clinician selects a document type — consultation note, referral letter, discharge summary, patient letter. Medscribe generates an editable draft from the transcript.
The clinician reviews every word, makes corrections, and approves the output before it enters any record. Medscribe produces no output without explicit clinician action.
What Medscribe does
What Medscribe deliberately does not do
These boundaries are intentional. Medscribe stays firmly in the documentation lane. Any feature that involves clinical judgment, risk calculation, or decision support is outside the product's scope by design.
Privacy and data
All transcription and document generation runs locally on the clinician's device. No audio, no transcript, no patient data is ever transmitted to Novatib's servers or any third-party service.
Because no patient data leaves the device, Medscribe does not create a data controller relationship for Novatib. The clinician or their organisation remains the sole data controller for all patient information.
Medscribe does not log, analyse, or report on consultation content. Session metadata (count, duration) may be stored locally for the clinician's own reference only.
